SEASIDE, Ore. – As we enter summer months, businesses on the coastline are staffing up for vacationers.
But we know acquiring new workers has been tricky for a great deal of places lately, so we checked in to see how selecting is heading in Seaside.
Supervisors tell us things are looking up following a lean spring, but they are continue to hoping to get more staff in the doorway.

“I know the significant university youngsters see it and are like holy smokes 500 bucks,” Supervisor Luke Crews mentioned. “The earlier programs we’ve had they are asking 20, 22 an hour. Least wage is not that. It’s kind of challenging to uncover good staff who have expertise.”
He explained they’re continue to hunting for a busser and a waiter. They’re executing alright now but the variety of workers is not suitable for when items get seriously busy.
“We typically work 3 people in a day so two of us will be in the kitchen, a person of us will be entrance desk right here, and dishes, then we have to acquire turns on the dining place,” Crews claimed.
Just down the road at Tora Sushi, Serving Manager Kendall Price explained employing has been considerably improved now than a couple months back but they nevertheless want a couple of much more people today to get again to staying open on Mondays far too.
